Cubs Take The NLDS
The Chicago Cubs have not won a World Series since 1908, and now they are among the final four teams competing for the World Series in the Major Leagues. The Cubs did not even win their division this year, coming in third place in the National League Central Division behind the St. Louis Cardinals who won the division, and the Pittsburgh Pirates who came in second place. Since there are two wild card spots (teams that did not win their division but can still make the playoffs), the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cubs were able to play one game to see who would play the Cardinals in the National League Division Series (NLDS). The Cubs won, and then just recently knocked off the best regular season team in the MLB, the St. Louis Cardinals. In a best-of five game series, the Cubs won 3 games, and lost one to advance to the NLCS (National League Championship Series) for the first time since 2003. Chicago fans must be very excited, for this is the first time since 2008 that their team has been in the playoffs at all.
