Mets Sweep Cubs, Win NLCS

The Cubs didn't have Steve Bartman to blame this time around, as the Cubs lost the first four games of the NLCS against the New York Mets, sending the Mets to the Fall Classic. Cubs fans had a lot of hope going into the series, but that New York pitching staff was too much for the Cubs to handle. New York Mets Second Basemen Daniel Murphy was the MVP of the series after a record-setting series. In the four game sweep, he went 9-17 (.529) with four home runs, a double, six RBI and six runs scored. Murphy had a home run in every game of the series, and has homered in six consecutive postseason games, breaking a record set by Carlos Beltran of the Houston Astros in 2004. The Mets will play the Kansas City Royals in the 2015 World Series starting tomorrow night at 8 PM ET.

  1. Murphy is a beast at hitting the ball! You may want to consider inserting an image of one of his home runs here, or a gif that shows his reaction to it.
