Royals Take 2-0 World Series Lead on Mets
On Wednesday night the Kansas City Royals beat the New York Mets 2-0, to take a 2-0 series lead in the Fall Classic. Johnny Cueto out-battled 2014 National League Rookie of the Year, Jacob deGrom in a gutsy matchup. Cueto threw a complete game 2-hitter. The Mets now find themselves in a hole as they need to win the next 4 of possible five games in the series. In other words, the Mets cant lose two more games. Game 1 was played on Tuesday where the Royals won in fourteen innings. That game was anyone's game but it came down to who wanted to win more, and the Royals came through. The Royals were down by one run going into the bottom of the ninth inning when Royals outfielder Alex Gordon hit a game tying home run to send the game to extra innings where the Royals came out victorious. Game three will be at 8 ET on Friday night.
